We See You

These tumultuous times and emotionally charged cries for justice have pierced the depth of racism and racial disparity that are so deeply rooted in this Nation.  Social Media has raised the curtain and unveiled the police brutality that repeatedly ravages communities of color.  Hospital corridors are filled with stretchers carrying Covid-19 patients, and far too many are critically ill Brown and Black Americans.  The racial disparities in our healthcare system are front and center for all to clearly see.  Here at Atlanta Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists, Our Eyes Are Wide Open!

We can no longer be content and silent, for silence is deadly!  Whenever racism finds a home in our practice, we will find it and eliminate it.  Complacency is not an option.  We no longer want to place a Band-Aid on the wound but want to uncover and cure the disease that creates the gaping ulcer.  We want to earn the trust of our patients by acknowledging there is justified skepticism within the culturally diverse populations we serve. Once again, let us be clear, we see you, and we want to hear you too!   As a practice, we encourage our patients to have an open dialog with us, and we promise to listen to your concerns as it relates to your health.  We want to be active advocates for legislation that can improve the healthcare of all women and help to reduce the inequalities the underserved and underrepresented populations fear.  We want to partner with others to identify and participate in local initiatives that can help address racial differences in maternal-fetal outcomes.

We want to be great healthcare providers and citizens of this Nation.  With greatness comes great responsibility.  So, we are steadfast and proud to stand with you: our patients, staff, colleagues, and friends of all Nations.  We commit to fight for a united America, which the forefathers declared “that all men are created equal” and one that dreams are made of.

In solidarity,
Atlanta Obstetrics And Gynecology Specialists
