Dr. Nelly Weledji is an obstetrician-gynecologist dedicated to providing inclusive, evidence-based care for women across all life stages. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University where she served as a Chief Resident and was recognized for her clinical excellence, leadership, and commitment to health equity.
Before medicine, Dr. Weledji was a Division I college athlete and also competed for the Cameroonian national team in basketball. These experiences have deepened her understanding of the physical and emotional demands faced by women who are athletes—especially during pregnancy and the postpartum period—and have equipped her with a unique perspective when caring for active individuals. While she welcomes patients of all backgrounds and lifestyles, she brings added insight to those navigating athleticism alongside reproductive health.
Dr. Weledji is especially passionate about reducing disparities in women’s health outcomes and was drawn to Atlanta by its vibrant, diverse communities and the opportunity to serve populations that have been historically underserved. She is committed to fostering an environment where every patient feels seen, supported, and empowered in their care.
Her clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, contraception and family planning, and wellness across the reproductive lifespan. She is known for her approachable, patient-centered style and values shared decision-making in every encounter.
In her free time, she enjoys salsa dancing, watching anime, and spending time on the beach. She is thrilled to join Atlanta Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists and looks forward to serving the women of Atlanta with warmth, expertise, and integrity.
